Many UK schools and organisations already use an Alertex wireless lockdown alarm. It’s a proven way to sound a distinct lockdown signal across a site, including outdoor areas. But a siren on its own can only tell people that something is happening, not what to do.
That’s where PopAlert comes in. PopAlert integrates with Alertex so that when the alarm is raised, every connected computer also shows a clear, full-screen instruction.
When an alarm sounds, people’s first question is “what’s happening?” and their second is “what should I do?” In those first seconds, staff look at each other, check phones, or wait for someone to explain. PopAlert removes that gap by putting the answer on screen: “LOCKDOWN: Secure your room, move away from windows and await further instructions.”
PopAlert uses the computers and network you already have. There are no extra panels, repeaters, wireless receivers or batteries to check around the building, just a PopAlert control unit installed on site by our engineers. If you already have Alertex, PopAlert adds on-screen instructions without disruption.
PopAlert also works on its own, or alongside other equipment through simple relay connections, including strobe lights, sirens, door access systems and PA interfaces. See all PopAlert integrations.
